Diese Studie, die von der WE&ME Foundation gef\u00f6rdert und von der Medizinischen Universit\u00e4t Wien, Abteilung f\u00fcr Primary Care Medicine (Univ.-Prof. PD Dr. Kathryn Hoffmann<\/a>, MPH und Dr. med. Golda Schlaff), in Zusammenarbeit mit der Universit\u00e4t Wien, Institut f\u00fcr Mathematik (Univ.-Prof. Dr. Joachim Hermisson), und der \u00d6sterreichischen Gesellschaft f\u00fcr ME\/CFS (stellvertretend f\u00fcr die \u00d6G ME\/CFS: Mag. Sandra Leiss) durchgef\u00fchrt wird, ist richtungsweisend f\u00fcr das Verst\u00e4ndnis und die Verbesserung des medizinischen Weges von Patient:innen, die an postakuten Infektionssyndromen (PAIS), wie ME\/CFS oder Post-COVID, leiden. Durch die Verwendung eines fortschrittlichen, patient:innenzentrierten Online-Fragebogens untersucht die Studie mit gro\u00dfer Tiefe und Pr\u00e4zision das Spektrum spezifischer PAIS-Syndrome, wie z. B. post-exertionelle Malaise, autonome Dysfunktionen, Mastzell\u00fcberaktivit\u00e4t oder kognitive Dysfunktionen (anstelle einzelner, zuf\u00e4lliger Symptome, die \u00fcblicherweise in anderen PAIS- und Long-Covid-Studien erhoben werden), um diese dann mit den beschriebenen Symptomen, der erfolgten Diagnostik und den Therapieversuchen zu vergleichen. Dar\u00fcber hinaus zielt die Studie darauf ab, diese Syndrome und Symptome im Zusammenhang mit den kanadischen Konsenskriterien (CCC) f\u00fcr ME\/CFS zu bewerten.
