Understanding ME/CFS Open Call 2024

The "ME/CFS 2024 - Understanding ME/CFS" call was opened for submissions on March 20, 2024. This call targets researchers in Vienna who aim to conduct an innovative research project (maximum of 15 months) that seeks to advance our understanding of the etiopathogenesis, diagnosis, and/or treatment of post-acute infectious diseases like ME/CFS and other PAIS with the main symptom of PEM (post-exertional malaise).

This call is co-funded equally by the WE&ME Foundation and WWTF. A total of €600,000 has been allocated for this call. The maximum funding per project is €100,000. Collaborative projects between scientists in Vienna and Lower Austria, known as joint projects, are also possible.

The coordinating project leader must be based at a university or non-university research institution in Vienna. Co-project leaders can be based outside Vienna (funding limited to 30% of the total budget).
