Becoming visible together: Benefit event for International ME/CFS Day in St. Pölten
On May 12, 2026, Rathausplatz Nord in St. Pölten will become a place of visibility, solidarity and education.
On the occasion of International ME/CFS Day, the Lower Austrian ME/CFS self-help group invites you to a special fundraising event to draw attention to the reality of people with myalgic encephalomyelitis / chronic fatigue syndrome.
ME/CFS is not “fatigue”, but a severe, often life-changing multisystem disease. Many sufferers abruptly lose their health, career prospects and social participation – while care, research and social recognition remain inadequate.
Program overview:
16:00 – Welcome
16:10-16:50 – Benefit concert Tom Gomez Duo
16:50-17:00 – Collective minute’s silence
This will be accompanied by the art installation “In the waiting room” and an information stand with the support of the WE&ME Foundation.
Why this day is important:
May 12 is a day to take a closer look. A day on which we set an example together – for more awareness, better care, social protection and urgently needed research.
Venue:
Town Hall Square North, 3100 St. Pölten
16:00-17:00
