Press conference on June 18, 2026, in Vienna
Just a few days before the decision on a new national action plan for post-acute infectious syndromes (PAIS) such as ME/CFS, four former Austrian health ministers have publicly announced their support for the petition.
The press conference will focus on the concerns of people with ME/CFS and other post-infectious conditions. Participants criticize the inadequate implementation of the 2024 action plan to date, the lack of transparency in the current process, and the insufficient involvement of those affected and experts.
Among other things, the petition calls for improved care for those affected, expanded research, and greater involvement of patients and experts in policy-making processes.
